“Take away the foreskins of your hearts, you men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem; that my rage may not go forth . . . on account of the badness of your dealings.”
To ‘take away the foreskin of their heart’ meant getting rid of what made their heart unresponsive—their thinking, affections, or motives that were in conflict with God’s.
Does that not suggest that an aid in taking away ‘the foreskin of the heart’ is that of developing a greater fear of and appreciation for Jehovah?
Such healthy fear can help each of us to have a heart more sensitive to what God desires us to be.
The writer has a fetish for heart foreskins? Do females have heart foreskins or just males?

The writter for this magazine must be running out of material and so they write this trash filled with nonsense, I swear writting this type of stuff got to shrink the brain and cause all kinds of problems when it comes to leaps in logic. I think a lot of these writers must be on the verge of a nervous break down.
While some may veiw it an honor to write articles for this magazine, I would hate it, its gotta destroy brain cells.

Who is the "True God of the Bible" ?
by Phizzy ini decided to ask this on the back of "lost"'s thread about yhvh etc.. quite often on here we get bible believers trying to tie the whole mess that is the bible together, and maintaining that it tells us about just one "true" god.. who is this "true" god, and what is the proof that he is true ?.
was he the god of abraham and melchizedech ?.
the god of the ordinary jew before the babylonian exile ?.

The personality of the God of the 66 books of the bible seems to be morphing along with the evolution of mankinds morals, which is what we should expect if this God along with all the other gods are a product of mankinds imagination(mythology).
I'm starting to take a more analytical view of gods and goddesses and wondering how these mental constructs developed over time and the role these mythological deities play in our evolution of knowledge.

I just want to say this forum is a minefeild of mind boggling information of facts and questions that no JW is ever going to receive at a Kingdom Hall
by smiddy ini thank you for this site , and all the people who contribute to it with their knowledge and input into it.. subjects need to be discussed , and different ideas need to be considered , and debated .
that is healthy for the mind.. the wtb&ts dictates what their members are to beleive and no questioning is tolerated.
that is unhealthy to the mind.

Videos like this aren't going to keep the kids in. As soon as they are old enough they will leave like most do.
Yeah but at least they can use them for free labor while they are still in.

Is The Governing Body Married To The Idea That They Must Predict The World's End? What Would It Take To Divorce Themselves From This Insane Practice?
by frankiespeakin init seems like the corporation has painted itself into a corner with a huge record of failed predictions.
they have managed to weather the bad fall out that comes from such failed attempts at interpeting the bible, but it can't go on forever.
they need to get out of this bible predicting business before it catches up with them they need a new business model that exploits some other area of human gulibility, or maybe sell off all their property and invest in soft drinks or come out with a new brand of ice cream, offer time share rooming at different branches, turn the kingdom halls into a worldwide chain of restaurants serving up spicy buffalo wings.. they could break the governing body up into different franchises:.

They can do a gradual morph, but It would be real tricky. First they would have to gradually tone down their end of the world articles while at the same time lessening there frequency.
Have a emphasis on a plan B start to take shape to shift emphasis onto something else that don't have a time expiration attached to it.

Frank,
Is The Governing Body Married To The Idea That They Must Predict The World's End?
For better or for worst till death do they part
What Would It Take To Divorce Themselves From This Insane Practice?
An annulment might work I don't think they can get a scriptural divorce. I think an immunity from prosecution and a golden parachute for each Governing member and a safe house in the Bahamas might get the ball rolling.

Sounds like paranoid delusions to me.
The UN is organization that was founded to maintain international peace and security; to develop friendly relations among nations; to cooperate in solving international problems and in promoting respect for human rights; and to be a centre for harmonizing the actions of nations. How it can turn on religion takes a real stretch of imagination and an alarmist temperment.
http://www.un.org/Overview/uninbrief/about.shtml
The United Nations was established on 24 October 1945 by 51 countries committed to preserving peace through international cooperation and collective security. Today, nearly every nation in the world belongs to the UN: membership totals 193 countries.
When States become Members of the United Nations, they agree to accept the obligations of the UN Charter, an international treaty that sets out basic principles of international relations. According to the Charter, the UN has four purposes:- to maintain international peace and security;
- to develop friendly relations among nations;
- to cooperate in solving international problems and in promoting respect for human rights;
- and to be a centre for harmonizing the actions of nations.
The United Nations is not a world government and it does not make laws. It does, however, provide the means to help resolve international conflicts and formulate policies on matters affecting all of us. At the UN, all the Member States — large and small, rich and poor, with differing political views and social systems — have a voice and a vote in this process.
The United Nations has six main organs. Five of them — the General Assembly, the Security Council, the Economic and Social Council, the Trusteeship Council and the Secretariat — are based at UN Headquarters in New York. The sixth, the International Court of Justice, is located at The Hague in the Netherlands.
